Dallas Cowboy cheerleader tryouts: audition information - Do You Want to Be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader? Here is What You Need to Know.

Have you always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader? Do you think you have the right stuff? Well if so then get ready for the tryouts that start May 10th. Here is some additional information about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader Tryouts. Keep in mind that while being a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader is a privilege, it is not a full time job. Most Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders have other jobs as well and treat this as a part time position.

Tryout Dates: There are several dates that are important, tryouts on each date start at 8 am according to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Website. May 10th is your first step, and that is the preliminary qualifier. If you make it through the preliminaries on May 10th, you will return on May 11th for the semi-finals. After making it through the semi-finals to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, your next step is the personal interviews on May 23rd. The finals is a dance competition if you make it that far and will be held May 24th.

Age Requirements; You must be at least 18 years old by the time of the preliminaries, not the finals. This means you must be 18 years or older on May 10th to try out. You also must bring a driver's license or passport to verify your identity and age at the preliminaries.

Education Requirements: You must have either graduated from high school with a diploma, or have a G.E.D.

Location Requirements: You must live in the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth area and have reliable transportation so you can attend all rehearsals.

Where are the tryouts held?: The auditions are held at Texas Stadium in the Stadium Club. This is located at Gate 1

What will I need for the tryouts as far as attire?: You should wear hot pants and a dance or athletic bra top. Tank tops are not permitted.

Sing with the king!
Sony BMG is using the magic of the digital age to let Elvis Presley lovers sing Christmas duets with their departed idol and send the songs in electronic holiday greeting cards.

Those wishing to join Elvis in singing "Blue Christmas" can start their recording sessions online at singwiththeking.com.

The website plays visitors a recording of Elvis singing the song with country music star Martina McBride, and then provides visitors with a telephone number to call and take their shot at McBride's part.

The finished piece can then be sent by email as digital holiday cards. Those who think their vocal performances are assured to give listeners a blue Christmas can opt to send the original Presley-McBride version instead.

Recording duets is free of charge, but the website entices visitors to buy compact discs of Presley Christmas song duets.

Top 10 games in Texas Stadium History according to Frank luksa - Actual Article.

Texas Stadium will complete its 37th and final regular season as home field of the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. Before its hole in the roof is turned into a hole in the ground, I pause to reminisce.

I have seen virtually every game there since 1971 and reduced more than 300 of them to a top 10 of my most memorable. To qualify, a game had to produce a scene never seen before and not likely to repeat.

For instance, I rejected the game (Oct. 27, 2002) in which Emmitt Smith set the NFL career rushing record. Even though it was a historic achievement, it lacked suspense. That Smith would pass Walter Payton's 16,726-yard total was a certainty and a mere waiting game until the moment arrived.

Here, in my opinion, are the top 10 games in Texas Stadium history.

1. Dallas 35, Washington 34 (Dec. 16, 1979)

This was Roger Staubach's last hurrah, his 21st fourth-quarter comeback and one of 14 in the final two minutes. His second touchdown pass in the last four minutes -- an 8-yard fade route to Tony Hill with 39 seconds left -- supplied a he's-done-it-again climax.

The game featured a series of wild surges. Washington scored the first 17 points, Dallas the next 21, Washington 17 more in succession and Dallas the final 14. The game included the most famous tackle in Texas Stadium history -- defensive lineman Larry Cole's third-down stop of John Riggins to prevent the Redskins from deep-freezing their 34-28 lead.

All-in stakes rode with the outcome, another reason even Hail Mary author Staubach described it as "absolutely the most thrilling 60 minutes I ever spent on a football field.'' Bitter rival Washington drew a playoff blank. The Cowboys won the NFC East title, their last hurrah under Staubach.

Staubach's Hall of Fame career ended a week later on an incongruous note during a 21-19 playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He completed his last NFL pass to guard Herb Scott, an ineligible receiver. Read full article and the list of all 10 games

Best Co-op Station in city! - Went to the Co-op on Logan and McPhillips several times in the past weeks for gas and propane. Unbelievable service and attitude. As cold as it was today (feels like -40000), I waited no longer than 30 seconds by the propane unit before an employee RAN over to fill up my propane tank. He even took my credit card inside and brought me my receipt. As I said, I have been there at least 3 times in the past 3 weeks and each time the service was excellent!

About 8 months ago I received the worst service I have ever received at the Co-op station on north main. I waited by the propane for 10 minutes plus. I went in to ask when they could help me. I was told I would have to wait until an attendant could come over. I ended up leaving without propane swearing to never come back. Well never was This past Thursday when I pulled up to the propane and waited again. I watched all the attendants watching me not offering to fill the propane up. I went in and asked do I need to come in and ask for propane? The manager said yes and buzzed one of the attendants who walked on over and filled my tank. I offered her my credit card and she refused it saying I would have to go inside and pay myself.

I do a lot of business with local establishments. I can honestly say that almost all are sub standard like the north main co-op. I have been to many Tim's and never received a thank you.Yet today, I can also honestly say that I have not seen a local business with the customer service of the co-op at Logan and McPhillips. I don't know how the owner has motivated the staff, but he/she should be delivering customer service lessons to other establishments. If you drive by stop in and try it out.

Why Men don't write advice columns
.

Just received this amusing email from a long-time friend. Enjoy!

Dear Larry:

I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a
mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt.  I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbour lady. I am 32, my husband is 34, and we have been married for twelve years.

When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that they had been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him.  He was let go from his job six months ago, and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. He won't go to counselling and I'm afraid I can't get through to him anymore. Can you please help?

Sincerely,
Jane

-----------------------------------------------------

Dear Jane:

A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine.  Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires.  If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the carburetor float chamber.

I hope this helps.

Larry

AP top 10 stories of 2007 - Here are 2007's top 10 stories, as voted by AP members:

1. VIRGINIA TECH KILLINGS: Seung-Hui Cho, 23, who had avoided court-ordered mental health treatment despite a history of psychiatric problems, killed two fellow students in a dormitory on April 16, detoured to mail a hate-filled video of himself to NBC News, then shot dead 30 students and professors in a classroom building before killing himself. It was the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

2. MORTGAGE CRISIS: A record-setting wave of mortgage foreclosures, coupled with a steep slump in the housing market, buffeted financial markets, caused multibillion-dollar losses at major banks and investment firms, and became an issue in the presidential campaign.

3. IRAQ WAR: The "surge" that sent more U.S. troops to Iraq was credited with helping reduce the overall level of violence. But thousands of Iraqis and hundreds of U.S. personnel were killed nonetheless during the year, and Iraqi political leaders struggled to make meaningful progress toward national reconciliation.

4. OIL PRICES: Oil prices soared to record highs, at one point reaching nearly $100 a barrel. The high prices, which burdened motorists and owners of oil-heated homes, nudged Congress to pass an energy bill that ordered an increase in motor vehicles' fuel efficiency.

5. CHINESE EXPORTS: An array of Chinese exports were recalled, ranging from toys with lead paint to defective tires to tainted toothpaste and food. Despite the high-profile problems, America's trade deficit with China was running at record-high levels.

6. GLOBAL WARMING: Warnings about the consequences of global warming gained intensity with new reports from scientific panels and a Nobel Prize to Al Gore for his environmental crusading that included the film "An Inconvenient Truth." Across the U.S., many state governments sought to cap emissions blamed for global warming.

7. BRIDGE COLLAPSE: An Interstate 35 bridge over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis collapsed during the evening rush hour on Aug. 1, killing 13 people and injuring about 100. The disaster fueled concern about possible structural flaws in other bridges nationwide.

8. PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN: In a yearlong drama with shifting subplots, large fields in both major parties battled for support ahead of the caucuses and primaries that will decide the 2008 presidential nominees. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama led among the Democrats; some polls showed five Republicans with double-digit support.

9. IMMIGRATION DEBATE: A compromise immigration plan, backed by President Bush and Democratic leaders, collapsed in Congress due to Republican opposition. The plan would have enabled millions of illegal immigrants to move toward citizenship, while also bolstering border security. The issues remained alive in the presidential campaign.

10. IRAN'S NUCLEAR PROGRAM: Worried that the ultimate goal is a nuclear arsenal, the United States and other countries pressed Iran to halt uranium enrichment. Iran said it never had a weapons program. A U.S. intelligence report concluded there was such an effort, but it stopped in 2003.

Just missing the Top 10 were the Southern California wildfires and the resignation of Alberto Gonzales as attorney general.

The balloting reflected a diverse news year, with 27 different stories receiving at least one first-place vote. The mortgage crisis got 48 first-place votes, Iraq 40 and oil prices 25.

Write-in votes were cast for two events that occurred after AP's ballot was distributed — the shooting at an Omaha mall that left nine people dead, and the Mitchell Report on use of performance-enhancing drugs in baseball.

Another write-in vote was for "cheaters and liars" — collectively addressing the many athletes and other public figures entangled in scandals.

Among stories about pop culture celebrities, the saga surrounding the death of Anna Nicole Smith got the most votes, finishing in 32nd place ahead of such stories as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the departure of Tony Blair as British prime minister, and the military crackdown in Myanmar.

"Anyone who picks the Anna Nicole Smith story in the Top Ten should be beaten with sticks," commented Mike Bailey, managing editor of The Courier News in Elgin, Ill.

John Moeur, managing editor of the Daily Herald in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., suggested that 2007's top development was broader than those on the ballot — and distinctly bleak.

"In our opinion, the top story must reflect the nation's stifling problems and the inability of either the Bush administration or the Democrat-led Congress to find solutions other than bickering," he wrote on his ballot

Financial Assistance Program - Due to a large number of requests, I have just put the finishing touches on a financial assist program. this will only be eligible for a select few cars at a time (since I do the financing and am not rich). A lot of people are calling me with limited funds on hand and looking for "beaters". Instead of selling a "beater". I am willing to assist those to purchase a more reliable vehicle for a little more money. I won't charge any interest, and you, the customer, will tell me what payments you are comfortable with. I don't care about credit rating as I understand this is a tough world that sometimes takes it's toll on a family financially. I do care about your word and your defined payment plan. This is something I will work with select customers on and is only valid if I have a good sincere feeling about a customer. Call for details.

Update: To date, the program has been very successful! Everyone I have worked together with has been timely and a pleasure to deal with. I look forward to doing future business with good honest people needing an assist.

Update 2: (May 28, 2008)as most have noted my prices are very fair. The prices listed are cash prices. Due to higher costs associated with financial assistance - effective immediately all financial assistance prices shall be higher than the list cash price. the amount is dependent upon the length of the assistance required.

2nd video feature is up on the 89 Honda Civic Si page - view clip here

Not to take anything away from Kelly, but Judging by the number of emails with the right answer I really didn't make this too tough. Kelly be ready for the next one - if you should win 2 in a row, there actually might be a prize better than my blog mentioning (I don't believe it either)! In fact, if you should get 2 in a row, I will buy you two movie passes to use for you and whoever you wish.

Local Heroes! - It' sure nice to look at the front page of our local paper to see two young men being recognized for being true heroes. The following is from the Winnipeg Sun cover.

" Two local fisherman made catches that saved lives this weekend. Danielle Hohne, 12, said she was walking near the Red River's edge near the north end of Kildonan Drive around 1 p.m. Saturday when the ground collapsed and she fell into the water.

Her friend Alexandria Klatt, 10, rushed near the edge of the bank and grabbed a branch to steady herself while reaching for her friend from the slippery top of a 10- to 15-foot cliff.

Within centimetres of dropping into the river, Alexandria, who can't swim, grasped on for safety.

She cried and screamed, fearing she would tumble into the water and be swept away by its current.

"I was worried if I went in the water it would push me out in the current and I'd die," said Alexandria, as the girls and rescuers spoke with media at her North Kildonan home yesterday.

But two strangers fishing nearby, Trevor Kekkonen, 23, and his friend Chris Bartsch, 28, heard the girls' screams and ran to the rescue." READ ENTIRE ARTICLE FROM WINNIPEG SUN

What I do - The initial entry to my blog will be dealing with what I do here on my site. As many that have called and visited can see, it is very hard for me to keep vehicles in stock. As soon as they are listed, they are soon sold. Many have called to find out a the vehicle they are calling about has already been sold. this is not a sales ploy at all. I have literally listed vehicles, and had them sold within hours. I attribute the quick vehicle sales to two things - my honesty factor and my pricing point. My honesty factor - As I say in my home page; I tell everything I know about the vehicle to prospective buyers - it is alarming how many people are shocked by honesty? Pricing Factor - I will always price a vehicle fairly (usually quite a bit below what is currently out there). I am starting to offer non-safetied prices to buyers that have the ability to do repairs themselves. Having the brother-in-law do repairs for a burger is a lot cheaper than shop rate. This combination of the above has left me with a growing list of people seeking vehicles that I am diligently working to fulfill their needs. I will be adding entries into the blog frequently so keep checking back. Topics will vary and I hope all enjoy! If you need to get in touch, email on the left. Oh yeah, remember to click on the google ads, helps keep the costs down - which I pass on the customers in their vehicle savings!
all deposits & payments on lay away plans for vehicles are non-refundable. No exceptions
